Jim Ellis Volkswagen of Marietta is proud of the distinction of having three Volkswagen Certified Master Technicians on staff!
Alan Levy, Service Manager at Jim Ellis VW on Cobb Parkway noted "Having three Master Technicians puts our service department in the top 2% of dealerships in the nation."
"75% of Volkswagen dealerships have no Master Techs on staff, and only 4 dealerships in the US have four Master Techs," says Levy. "No dealerships have more than four. Of course, our goal is to have 15 Master Techs in our service department, and we are continuously training to reach that goal!"

The Shop foreman, Jimmy Brawner, has been a Volkswagen Certified Master Technician for some time, and we wanted to take this opportunity to welcome Tommy Atkins and Adam Caldwell to the elite ranks. "I'm proud of my entire team," says Brawner. "They work hard to provide the best service possible to our customers."
Brawner has been with Jim Ellis VW for 26 years, and achieved his Master Tech status in 2008. Caldwell and Atkins have worked for Jim Ellis Volkswagen for 3 and 5 years respectively.
"We love being able to encourage our employees to grow and to continually improve in their careers," says Lou Fantacone, General Manager of Jim Ellis Volkswagen of Marietta. "Our customers appreciate knowing that they can rely upon our service technicians to be up to date on all of the Volkswagen standards."
"Because I started my career in the business as a technician many years ago, I have a deep respect for what today's technicians have to know to succeed," says Jimmy Ellis, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Jim Ellis Automotive Group.
"The typical vehicle today has 100 lbs of wiring, four on-board computers and hundreds of electronic sensors requiring an technician to be well trained in the extremely sophisticated technologies of electronic and computer systems diagnosis," says Ellis. "These are not your back yard shade tree vehicles any more."
"I'm very proud of Tommy, Adam and Jimmy for their commitment to education and training and to our team at Jim Ellis VW of Marietta. I encourage and support all of our technicians in their endeavor to be the best Master factory-trained technician they can be for our deserving Jim Ellis clients."

I followed up with this with our service advisers, and after a lot of inspection, Ms. Altman has a complaint about something that is inherent in the design of the transmission. There is nothing actually wrong with the car, and there is nothing covered by the warranty that would be covered or fixed.
There's not really anything that can be done about the shift lag in a DSG (drive-by-wire) transmission. There are many forum discussions on this topic including this one.
I'm really sorry that we can't help Ms. Altman more, as we would like to do our utmost to ensure every customer's satisfaction.
