When asked about the Grand Opening that was held in the newly remodeled and rebuilt Marietta store on June 10th, Mr. Fantacone said "The event was successful in many ways, but the best comment I heard was from Don Hughes, (beside me in photo) when he told me that this was one of the finest Grand Openings he has ever attended, and that what made it so unique was the great mix of customers, Jim Ellis associates, and manufacturer personnel.  An excellent dynamic when all levels of the auto business meet."

Jimmy Ellis said that this was "A special night to recognize the hard work of so many people that lasted for several years.  I most proud of the employees of Jim Ellis VW of Marietta who endured so much during the 14 months of construction by maintaining our high standard of client satisfaction under very difficult conditions. I'm most proud of Lou Fantacone, our GM, who directed and led the team at Volkswagen Marietta through this difficult construction with a positive leadership style and attitude that was apparently infectious to his team."
