Jim Ellis, President of Jim Ellis Automotive, presented the keys to the first of the 13 buses delivered to the Salvation Army last month at Jim Ellis Chevrolet. The Salvation Army received a generous grant specifically awarded to update part of their transportation fleet. The Salvation Army traded in 13 15-passenger vans to obtain the new buses. The Thomas buses are the latest, safest configuration of it's kind on the market today.
"It was our honor to assist the Salvation Army for
their transportation needs," Ellis remarked. "The Salvation Army does very
important work in Atlanta and Georgia. The needs resulting from the difficult
economic situation in the area has created an enormous case load for the Army.
We're glad to help provide them with reliable, safe transportation for their
needs and their affiliates' needs."
The buses are Chevrolet Express 3500 dual-rear
wheel chassis cabs up-fitted with Thomas bus bodies installed by The Bus Group.
Jim Ellis Chevrolet's Commercial Truck Department serves a regional customer base by providing the needs for fleet, commercial, and business partners in the southeast. Part of Jim Ellis' recent facility expansion includes six additional commercial truck service bays to insure adequate servicing of the vehicles it sells.
