Detroit's Auto Show is one of the best places to see the future of the automotive industry.  Among the accolades passed on to the overachievers, one of the most sought after awards is the EyesOn Design Award.  This year, the big winners were the Porsche 918 RSR and Audi A6.

The 2012 Audi A6 won the Best Production Vehicle Award which was a repeat of last years win when the Audi A8 walked away with the award.  Achim Badstuebner, the brand's head of exterior design at Audi remarked that the award indicated "strong feedback that we have done our homework".  Audi has won the production award 3 of the last 4 years. Of the finalists for the award, we were also happy to see the Hyundai Veloster in the running as well.

Other big winners were the Porsche 918 RSR, which snagged the Best Concept vehicle. The award was accepted by Detlev von Platen who is the president and chief executive of Porsche Cars North America.
