ANNUAL AIRSHOW AT PDK AIRPORT!

Two-fer on May 12: Airshow and Corvette Show by Mark Frost

Jim Ellis has been sponsoring the DeKalb Peachtree Airport's Good Neighbor Day Open House and Airshow for years now and boy is it fun!  Acrobatic airplanes, formation aircraft, military aircraft, and warplanes on display and doing "death defying" feats!  And of course, the hottest cars from the Jim Ellis Automotive stable will be there, all brands!  A number of cars that "fly" will be there: ZR1 Corvette, ZL1 580HP Camaro, Audi R8, the new Porsche 911S, Hyundai Genesis, the Buick Regal Turbo GS, the all-new VW Beetle, and all of the cool, new Mazdas!

The triple jet engine Flashfire Truck will thunder down the runway at obscene speeds (Bring your earplugs!). People will be jumping out of planes and there will be almost 100 vendors selling an interesting variety of goods including food. And there is a rumor that the "drag race" between a Corvette ZR1, a Porsche GT2, and an Audi R8 will make a comeback at this year's show. Or possibly, a Corvette ZR1 will be racing a Pitts acrobatic biplane?  Hmm. Let's see.  A 638HP car weighing 3,200 pounds racing a 350HP, 1,600 pound airplane.  Which do you think will win?  You'll have to show up and see for yourself!

The show is from 12-5pm at DeKalb Peachtree Airport.  Parking is $5 but otherwise there is no fee to attend. Coincidentally, the Jim Ellis Chevrolet Annual Spring Corvette Show at the Chevy dealership is scheduled for the same day from 10am to 2pm.  Vintage Corvettes in the morning and cool airplanes in the afternoon?  Now that's a fun day!
