Atlanta Dealer Honored by TIME Magazine and Goodyear JIm Ellis Receives national recognition for community service and accomplishments at NADA convention
San Francisco, CA February 9, 2008 - Jim Ellis, President of Jim Ellis Volkswagen in AtlantaGeorgia,
was honored today for his nomination for the 2008 TIME Magazine Dealer of the
Year Award. Ellis was one of a select group of dealers from across the country
honored at this years National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) convention
in San Francisco today. The announcement of this years Dealer of the Year and
finalists was made by Ed McCarrick, President and Worldwide Publisher of TIME
Magazine and Johann Finkelmeier, Vice President and General Manager of Original
Equipment Tires, The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, at the opening business
meeting of the convention, which is attended by more than 25,000 people involved in
the automobile industry.
The TIME Magazine Dealer of the Year award is the automobile industry's most prestigious and highly coveted award for car dealers. Recipients are among the nations most successful auto dealers. However, they must also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to effective community service. Ellis, 76, was chosen to represent the Georgia Automobile Dealers Association in the national competition-one of only 51 automobile dealers, from more than 19,500 nationwide, nominated for the 39th annual award. The award is sponsored by TIME magazine in association with Goodyear, and in cooperation with NADA.
