Chevy Colorado welcomes off-road-oriented ZR2

The Chevrolet Colorado returned to the midsize-truck market in 2015 after a brief hiatus -- and things have only been getting better for this just-right pickup.

Chevrolet expands its lineup for the latest model year to include an all-new Colorado variant -- the 2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2. It's essentially in a segment of one, blending maneuverability and efficiency with off-road capability. It's powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front and rear tracks are wider than the conventional Colorado, and the suspensions is lifted by two inches. Its front and rear electronic locking differentials are class-exclusive, as are its available diesel engine and Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve damper technology for off-road use.
