A Supra Auction for a Super Cause

600 × 191

Jim Ellis Toyota of McDonough received the dealership’s first 2020 GR Supra Launch Edition. With the hype around the arrival of this returning legend, the first one to roll off the production line sold for $2.1 million at a charity auction. Piggybacking off this idea and the Jim Ellis way of looking for opportunities to give back, Jim Ellis Toyota of McDonough is auctioning off the one on their lot with all proceeds over the vehicle’s MSRP to benefit local McDonough charity, A Friend’s House, Inc.

The online auction of the new Supra is live now at JimEllisToyota.com. The bidding starts at the vehicle MSRP price of $60,141 and bidders can submit bids increasing in $100 increments from the current winning bid. The auction will end on Thursday, August 8 at 1:00 p.m. EST. All bid submissions should be made through the online form found on the site linked above and then will be confirmed via e-mail.

“After much anticipation, we are excited to welcome the first 2020 Supra Launch Edition to Jim Ellis Toyota of McDonough,” said John Gliem, general manager of Jim Ellis Toyota of McDonough. “After seeing a number of the new Supras sell for over MSRP, our team decided that we would auction ours off and donate the additional money to A Friend’s House, Inc., a local Henry County charity. We hope to see local Supra fans take this opportunity to bid on owning this new vehicle knowing that they are helping a great cause.”

A Friend’s House charity is located in McDonough, Georgia and serves as a home for youth and children in crisis. According to the Henry County Department of Family and Children Services, they on average receive 300 reports per month of child abuse, neglect or abandonment. A Friend’s House helps address the needs of these youth.

“Our mission is to provide a home that addresses the physical and emotional needs of the youth we serve in our community,” said Julie O’Neill, A Friend’s House, Inc. community outreach/public relations strategist. “Through services such as counseling, medical and dental treatment, academic assistance, and recreational opportunities, A Friend’s House has served thousands of young people over the years.”

Bidding for the Supra auction will be limited to those living within a 60-mile radius of Jim Ellis Toyota of McDonough. For each online bid received, the bidder will be contacted via phone or e-mail to confirm their bid and will be notified if they are outbid and given the opportunity to increase their bid at that time.
