We are truly excited to recognize Darrell Hicks as the August 2023 Jim Ellis Client Champion! Darrell is a technician at Buick GMC Mall of Georgia. Darrell was nominated by Service Manager Nick Rose.
The Jim Ellis Client Champion award has been presented monthly since 2014 to a Jim Ellis team member who goes above and beyond to deliver the Jim Ellis Promise to one of our guests. With more than 1,600 team members in the organization, only a small percentage of team members each year receive this honor.
Here is the story behind why Darrell was nominated as the monthly Client Champion:
On Saturday, July 15, an out-of-state customer came into the dealership requesting assistance on his 2016 GMC Canyon. The vehicle had failed while he was driving his family from Lake Lanier Islands to Montana for a summer vacation. Darrell immediately began to assist the customer and noticed that the vehicle required extensive diagnostics and repairs in order to be drivable. Without question or complaint, he stayed three hours after his shift ended to ensure that the vehicle was ready to hit the road again. Because of Darrell’s unwavering dedication to his customers, the family was able to make their way to Montana for their summer vacation.
