
We are truly excited to recognize Andrew Gay as the July 2023 Jim Ellis Client Champion! Andrew is a service technician at Kia of Kennesaw. Andrew was nominated by General Sales Manager Matt Rock.
The Jim Ellis Client Champion award has been presented monthly since 2014 to a Jim Ellis team member who goes above and beyond to deliver the Jim Ellis Promise to one of our guests. With more than 1,600 team members in the organization, only a small percentage of team members each year receive this honor.
Here is the story behind why Andrew was nominated as the monthly Client Champion:
On Saturday, June 17, a customer came in with the intent of purchasing a new Kia Carnival. She had a family vacation coming up and was ecstatic to drive her family there in her brand new vehicle. After spending some time with a salesperson negotiating the perfect deal for her and her family, she was ready to seal the deal. As it was inching near closing time, the salesperson performed a final walk around and sent her on her merry way with her new Carnival.
Moments later, the customer received a call that the pre-delivery inspection had not been completed and she would need to return to the dealership. She was very disappointed that her efforts to purchase the car in time to drive her family to the beach went down the drain, as anyone would be. The customer reached out to the service manager, who in turn, reached out to Andrew Gay to help provide a fast solution. Sunday morning arrived and even though our dealerships are closed on Sundays, Andrew came in at 7:30 a.m. to perform the pre-delivery inspection on the vehicle. His decision to give up a Sunday morning with his family in order to help another family in need is simply one of the many ways he helps everyone around him. Thanks to Andrew’s selfless and kind-hearted attitude, the customer was able to take her family on a wonderful vacation in her new Carnival.
