We are truly excited to recognize Misty Magruder as the April 2024 Jim Ellis Client Champion! Misty is a service agent in the Kia of Kennesaw Business Development Center. Misty was nominated by General Manager Michael Johnson.

The Jim Ellis Client Champion award has been presented monthly since 2014 to a Jim Ellis team member who goes above and beyond to deliver the Jim Ellis Promise to one of our guests. With more than 1,700 team members in the organization, only a small percentage of team members each year receive this honor. 

Here is the story behind why Misty was nominated as the monthly Client Champion:

As Misty was preparing to leave for the day, she noticed a customer walk into the dealership looking to buy a jack and tire iron. She learned that he was traveling with his family from out of town and had gotten a flat tire on his Honda. He left his family at a restaurant about a mile down the road while he set out walking in search of tools to change the flat tire. While one of the service advisors prepared to send him to the parts department to see if we sold those items, Misty decided to take it upon herself to locate items in the service department that they could loan the man to fix his vehicle and get his family back on the road. Misty spent time checking multiple areas in the shop but had no luck locating the needed items. Misty continued to be determined to find a way to help the gentleman get what he needed, so she proceeded to ask around the dealership staff and check inventory vehicle supplies to see if there were any items in vehicles on the lot he could use. Misty’s determination motivated others to get involved and resulted in other employees trying to help her locate the needed items. Eventually, she came across two technicians in the Express Service Department (Stephen Gardner and Alan Lopez-Ramirez) who instead of just offering tools, volunteered to go and help the gentleman change his flat tire. The technicians drove the man back to his car and family while Misty wrapped up at the dealership. Upon leaving for the day, Misty drove over to the restaurant to check on everyone. The tire was changed and the customer was ready to get back on the road when she arrived. The man was very grateful for the help and the Jim Ellis team members were happy to help him. We are so thankful to have Misty on our team as she is the embodiment of being both compassionate and goal-oriented. Thank you, Misty, for doing all in your power to help someone in need.
