We are truly excited to recognize Dustin Rhodes as the August 2024 Jim Ellis Client Champion! Dustin is a technician at Volkswagen of Kennesaw. Dustin was nominated by Service Manager Rafael Sandoval.
The Jim Ellis Client Champion award has been presented monthly since 2014 to a Jim Ellis team member who goes above and beyond to deliver the Jim Ellis Promise to one of our guests. With more than 1,700 team members in the organization, only a small percentage of team members each year receive this honor.
Here is the story behind why Dustin was nominated as the monthly Client Champion:
A few guests walked into the dealership stating that their mother’s Nissan had broken down outside of the dealership. Dustin gathered information from the guests and rounded up several technicians to help him push her vehicle from a turn lane into the dealership parking lot. Once they were out of the busy intersection, Dustin popped the hood and conducted a quick assessment of what was going on with her vehicle. He suggested that she should leave her vehicle at the dealership instead of paying to have it towed to Nissan so that he could save her money by repairing it himself. Dustin replaced the drive belt and took it upon himself to cover the labor costs as a goodwill gesture to the woman in need. The next day when she came to pick up her vehicle, the woman was incredibly grateful for Dustin’s selfless decision to help her out. She even mentioned that her daughter recently purchased a Volkswagen Taos and that moving forward she only wanted to use Volkswagen of Kennesaw to service her VW vehicle.
