We are truly excited to recognize David Washington as the March 2024 Jim Ellis Client Champion! David is a salesperson at Toyota of McDonough. David was nominated by Sales Manager Lacy Rubin and General Manager Ryan McIntyre. 
 
The Jim Ellis Client Champion award has been presented monthly since 2014 to a Jim Ellis team member who goes above and beyond to deliver the Jim Ellis Promise to one of our guests. With more than 1,700 team members in the organization, only a small percentage of team members each year receive this honor. 
 
Here is the story behind why David was nominated as the monthly Client Champion:
 
On Feb. 3, a client arrived at Jim Ellis Toyota of McDonough with a mission to purchase a vehicle. This particular client was in her 80s and made it clear that this was the last vehicle she wanted to purchase— something that aided her current state of mobility, a vehicle that was easy to handle, and most importantly, a vehicle she could pay for in cash.
 
With these parameters in mind, David patiently worked with the client, listening to her concerns and showcasing vehicles which would meet her needs until she settled on the one that fit her requirements— a RAV4 hybrid. The client excitedly pulled out her checkbook, ready to get her purchase underway, only to be disheartened in hearing the news that a check was not a payment type that could be used for this transaction. The client was flustered and didn't feel comfortable having to go to the bank to finalize her purchase. With a heavy heart, she paid a down payment, letting David know she'd return once she had the means to make it to the bank.
 
The very next day, on David's day off, he took it upon himself to find a way to help his client. Rather than wait until she found the help she needed, he offered up his free time to assist her. He picked up the client and took her to the bank. When the client asked if they could stop at the grocery store on the way home, David assisted her with this as well.
 
Once the purchase was finalized, David took the time to work with the client at her house, helping her understand all the features of her new vehicle and ensuring she felt comfortable with her new purchase before he left. 
 
Even on a day off, David took the time to provide a five-star customer experience, building and strengthening connections with our clients in a way that embodies our store's values and mission.
