We are honored to recognize Brian Baker as the April 2025 Jim Ellis Client Champion! Brian is a service advisor at Jim Ellis Chevrolet Atlanta and was nominated for this award in recognition of his compassion, selflessness, and commitment to going above and beyond for a customer in need.
Since 2014, the Jim Ellis Client Champion award has been presented monthly to a team member who exemplifies what it means to deliver the Jim Ellis Promise. With more than 1,700 team members across the organization, being selected as a Client Champion is a true testament to an individual’s character and dedication to service.
Here’s the story that led to Brian’s nomination:
A customer recently contacted our Jim Ellis Chevrolet Business Development Center to schedule a check engine light diagnosis. During the call, she shared that she was currently experiencing homelessness and living in her vehicle. Because of this, she would be unable to leave it overnight. When she arrived at the dealership, Brian greeted her and got her vehicle checked in. He coordinated a preliminary diagnosis while she waited, then scheduled a follow-up appointment for the very next day, hoping we could complete the repair in one day.
Unfortunately, a delay in the shop meant the repair could not be completed the same day. With the vehicle out of commission overnight, the client was left with nowhere to sleep.
That’s when Brian did something extraordinary.
He and his fiancée decided to use their own travel points to book the customer a hotel room for the night, ensuring she had a safe and comfortable place to stay while her vehicle was being repaired. The next day, the service team completed the repair, and the client was back on the road.
Brian’s actions reflect the heart of the Jim Ellis Promise. He didn’t just help a customer — he saw a person in need and went out of his way to make sure she was cared for and supported. His empathy and generosity turned a difficult situation into a powerful reminder of what it means to serve others with integrity and heart.
