The Jim Ellis Collision Center originally opened in 1973, in the space now home to Jim Ellis Alfa Romeo Maserati. It has moved several times over the years and, for the past three, has served the community from its current location on West Hospital Avenue, next to DeKalb County Animal Services.
What began as a modest operation has evolved into a full-service shop committed to precision, safety and outstanding customer service. The current facility features 22 body repair bays, 12 paint stalls, dedicated buffing and washing areas, and a service drive where customers are greeted, vehicles are checked in, and final quality inspections take place. A team of about 40 professionals keeps everything running smoothly, handling everything from hands-on repairs to insurance coordination.
General Manager Brent Martin, who joined the Collision Center in 2008 and began leading the team in 2010, doesn’t describe his role as managing. “I consider it a privilege,” he says. “And I’m grateful to the Ellis family for the opportunity.”
The Collision Center performs repairs to factory standards and services all brands, even those not sold by Jim Ellis. Services include collision repair, insurance-based work, ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems) recalibrations, suspension repair and warranty work. After bodywork is complete, vehicles often go to the appropriate Jim Ellis service department for brand-specific calibrations, alignments or coolant refills.
The center works with all major insurance carriers and helps streamline the claims process for customers. Through the Jim Ellis Luxury Rental program, many customers also receive a rental vehicle from the same brand they drive or may be considering for a future purchase.
As of mid-2025, nearly 600 vehicles have been repaired at the Jim Ellis Collision Center, reflecting the trust customers place in the team and the reputation Jim Ellis has built over the decades.
